I was a substance abuser for 26 years. In 1998, I lost my home of 27 years. I went to live with my sister. From there I lived with a friend’s mother. And then I lived in a shelter. Finally, I ended up staying with my daughter. I would always say I was homeless.
When I stopped using, things began to happen for me. Today I am very blessed. Five years of not having my own place to live, and now I will be moving into an apartment of my own. What’s for you, you will get. Today, I have a more blessed life. I am living a drug free life; my children and grandchildren are proud of me. Going into recovery was the best thing that happened to me. I am living a clean and sober life. On June 13 th 2003 I will be 3 years clean and sober.
